Mass Spectrometry

The MS service at LOC is open to all research groups within the ETH Zurich.

We analyse and characterise small, volatile organic compounds, sensitive organometallics, non-covalent supramolecular compounds up to synthetic polymers and biopolymers.  

• qualitative (formula) validation of known compounds
• MS-assisted structural elucidation of unknown compounds
• MS-based method development for customer specific problems
• Quantification of analytes in complex matrices
• Individual, customer-specific development of fully automated processing scripts for large series of experiments (screenings)
• Provision of knowledge and expertise to our customers as integral consulting around analytical questions with focus on mass spectrometry.
