Sample submission
Dear user(s) of the micro-elemental analysis service
We are making a big effort to obtain optimum results. However, we need your help. Please follow the rules listed below to improve the results - it is in your own interest! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
Rules:
- The sample must be homogeneous. Solutions can not be measured.
- Use clean test tubes from the „Schalter" (HCI Shop) only (chrome sulphuric acid, dest. water, alcohol, ether, HV)
- Label the test tubes with: name, group name, molecular formula, special identification and the elements which are to be determined.
- Fill in the Elemental-Analysis-formular completely.
- Contact us as soon as possible if the sample is sensitive to light and air.
- Solid material must be powdered and well-dried at minimum 24 h on high vacuum.
- If you don't know the exact molecular formula, please give us the expected Percentage of each Element.
- We reject analyses of samples if the test tubes are insufficiently labeled or formulars are incompletely filled out
Quantities:
Please give us plenty of substance. You will get back all the substance that is not required. If you are coming from outside DCHAB please make a remark so that we can give your sample back after measuring.
How to fill out the Elemental Analysis -Formular
Please fill in the form completely as shown in the example below. Especially important are the categories: melting point (measured yourself!), purification and drying are very important as well. If the sample is a commercial product, then note „purchased" in the line „purification".
